Without the use of confusing terms, affiliate marketing is the process selling some else's product or service by some one else who those not have is own product to sell online or his own service to offer online.
The owner of the products or services is usually called the advertiser while the promoter of such products or services is usually the publisher or the affiliate.
The term of service depends on site you are promoting and the owners policy.
Some site offer some percentage of sales price while some offers flat rate amount irrespective of how much the final client pays.
